Meet Arabella
Arabella arrived at Rescue Ranch in March 2015 alongside three other miniature horses after their previous family was no longer physically able to care for them. From the very beginning, she quietly found her place in the herd.
The shyest of our minis, Arabella is also the smartest. She’s always observing, taking in her surroundings, watching the other horses, and keeping up with everything happening around her. She may hang back at first, but she misses nothing.
Now nearly 23 years old (born September 4, 2003), Arabella requires a little extra care. In 2019, she was diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease, a condition affecting the pituitary gland that impacts hormone production. Because of this, she needs daily medication and more frequent veterinary monitoring. The disease can affect her coat, metabolism, and ability to maintain weight, so she receives additional grain, supplements, and specialized care to help her stay comfortable and thriving.
